Stone heisst die aktuelle  EP von Haploid - Musik zum Träumen mit Gänsehautfeeling erwartet man bei diesem Titel nicht. Stellt man sich doch bei einem Stein etwas kaltes und hartes vor. Back in 1986, singer Chris Donovan and keyboarder Tom Seth started their first band in a little parish situated near the Lago Maggiore in Southern Switzerland. For almost ten years Chris and Tom played together in various formations. In 1995, Tom moved to Zurich for studies, marking the end of the band’s first endeavour. Eight years later Chris and Tom joined again for a new project. In summer 2003, together with guitarist Reydana, who used to play in various cover-bands and who is also engaged in a soloist career, they created Haploid. Two years later Patricia Potter (drums) joined up the band, completing Haploid's actual setup. The band is still based in Ticino. Inspired by a wide range of music from John Adams to Pink Floyd, from Ligeti to Blackfield, from Tori Amos to Radiohead, Haploid is still underway on its journey to discover its own musical dialect and striving to develop new ideas. One of the most typical characteristics of the band’s music and lyrics is its melancholy. From spring 2006 until summer 2007 Haploid has been recording their first demo-album with eleven of their own songs. Between fall 2007 and spring 2008 they recorded five singles for their EP “Stone” with engineers Bernie Staub at Avalon Music Studio (Berg, Switzerland), and Dom Torche & Bertrand Siffert at Relief Studio (Belfaux, Switzerland).
